We believe there are three major areas required to successfully develop applications for the wireless services community: an understanding of industrial applications and wireless networks, experience with mission critical operation systems such as SCADA and Network Management Systems, and the knowledge and expertise to present data in a meaningful and usable manner. Stanza Systems was formed with a vision to combine our experience in these areas to provide clients with a single, simple framework and partner when facing the challenges of implementing a wireless service.
The core Stanza Systems employees were the innovators of the wireless industry’s first and still utilized advanced processes and techniques for successful operation of large scale wireless networks at companies such as Metricom (UtiliNet network and Ricochet wireless service), Palm.net, OmniSky, and WilTel.
The Stanza Systems management team has over 100 man years of successful experience in building industrial systems using advanced, but proven technologies such as high speed wireless communications, data collection/processing systems, network design/deployment, and data center/network operations. The Stanza technical staff has been directly involved with software and application development for numerous industrial supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems within the electric and petroleum industries. Stanza currently operates a dedicated, fully functional, secured and hardened Network Operations Center (NOC) in Houston, Texas. Its staff have successfully designed and operated large, widely distributed systems and wireless networks for many years.
The most important piece to successfully building industrial wireless applications is capturing and presenting data in user-friendly, efficient, and secure manner. This involves expertise in database management and design, cutting-edge software engineering techniques and technologies, and the ability to integrate new ideas into existing applications in a secure and aesthetically pleasing way. Stanza has developed complete end-to-end applications as well as custom user-interfaces running on existing applications.
